Sadly, this emergent harmony has been lost to time.

There are many exceptions; the tide ebbs and flows. But the game industry, and game development as a practice, proceeds in permanent transformation into something far removed from the tight code it once was.

PAYLHORSE was thus established on the foundation of approaching software and game design as high art, aspiring to resurrect a lost practice - and insodoing, push the medium as it stands today beyond its contrived limits.
